About Us
Recruits are removed after a 1-week trial if an Officer deems them a poor fit for TUP.

Members are removed from TUP after 60 days of inactivity (not logged in on any of their toons), unless a leave of absence has been discussed with The High Council.

Officers are demoted to Member if they have been inactive for 45 days, unless a leave of absence has been discussed with The High Council.

Successor is demoted to Councillor after 30 days of inactivity on any character, unless a leave of absence has been discussed with The High Council.

Keep in mind that just because a toon goes inactive for a period of time does not mean that the member is inactive, as long as the member that owns that toon is still active. For example, if Tedro stops playing Stedlo for a few months to work on other characters and hasn't logged Stedlo for 45 days, we wouldn't remove Stedlo from the roster. As long as the member is active, and they have a note on their toons indicating which ones they own, all of their characters in TUP are considered active. However, if a player does not have a note indicating which characters are theirs, then there is no way for us to tell that they own that toon and they risk having those characters removed from the roster.

We all understand that sometimes real life gets in the way of your life in LotRO. That is why we have devised a Leave of Absence system:
  • Leave of Absence is granted for a period of 180 days and can only be approved by The High Council.
  • An extension of 120 days can be requested and can only be approved by The High Council.
  • After 300 days, the Member is removed from TUP.
  • NOTE: Number of days is consecutive normally, but is not limited to consecutive.

In order to request a leave of absence, you will need to send a site mail message to a member of The High Council containing the following:
  • Member name on site (probably your primary toon name)
  • Approximate number of days you expect to be gone

The High Council will get back to you as soon as possible.

Simple right? If you are asking for an extension on your LoA, simply fill out the same letter form to a High Councillor but include the matter that you are extending the LoA.
